How to Securely Share Your Own W-9 Form Using getW9

getW9 allows you to securely send your own IRS Form W-9 to clients, partners, or anyone who requests it — without emailing PDF attachments or handling paperwork manually.

Steps to Send Your Own W-9

  1. Go to Settings → My Companies or click the “My Companies” card on your dashboard.
  2. On the My Companies page, you’ll see all your existing entities listed in a grid.
  3. Click the green airplane icon ✈️ next to the company for which you want to send a W‑9.
  4. Enter the recipient’s name and email address to whom you want to send the W‑9.
  5. If it's your first time sending a W-9 for that company, you'll be guided through a 4-step process to generate your W‑9 securely inside the platform.
    Note: For future W‑9 sends, you won’t need to repeat these steps — you can reuse the already created W‑9 for that company.
  6. Once sent, the recipient will receive a secure, private link to view and download your W‑9.
    Important: This link will automatically expire 60 minutes after the first access, ensuring privacy and security.
